Making money from your blog
02.24.06 (12:55 pm)   [edit]
Believe it or not I am so called Pro user of tBlog.  But as many of tBlog users know, the service just has too many problems, despite some recent improvements.  And since their last update, now they are putting popup ads on my blog.  That means that I can not display Google AdSense ads on my blog.  Now that means that I am losing some real money here particularly in light of this article on how to blog for dollars.  Now I am struggling to decide if I should take my blog elsewhere.

How to change the URL in b2evolution to make it search engine friendly?
02.17.06 (3:39 pm)   [edit]

In my previous article I explained how you can make your website with the trouble-free URL (i.e. with a www) if you have installed Joomla

Now what if you have installed b2evolution - a CMS that I installed on Imager photo blog.  It too has the same default setting as Joomla.  Like last time, here too you find the _config.php in the /conf folder and then just change the setting from domain.com to www.domain.com.  Piece of cake!  Google will love you.

How to change live site setting in Joomla?
02.17.06 (3:31 pm)   [edit]

Recently I installed Joomla CMS on Starmoo and had one problem.  Instead of the default address being www.starmoo.com, it was starmoo.com.  Due to canonical issues that has become a problem with Google (the only search engine that webmasters need to care about) because it may trigger a duplicate content penalty.

While we published several articles I wanted to resolve the problem before it became an issue.  Unfortunately, Joomla sets the default without the www and doesn't allow you to change it but I would strongly recommend that you do (there is a whole discusssion around 301 redirects but that is another story - more important for those websites that already have many already indexed pages).

How to change your setting?

Just go to the configuration.php file and open it in a notepad (make a backup copy in case you make a mistake).  Now find the line where your website may be listed as domain.com and change it to www.domain.com.  You should be done.  Just check the website now.

02.15.06 (11:26 am)   [edit]

Did you miss me?  I was gone for such a long time but that is because I was working on an exciting project.  We have just launched another new website.  Starmoo brings you the latest on where Hollywood celebrities are vacationing.  So check it out.

Right now we have already covered Fiji Islands, Los Cabos, Disneyland, Central America, South Africa and a few others.
