As if Tom Cruise's relentless campaign for Scientology was not enough, he is now talking about eating the placenta of Katie Holmes.  Well, I am very open minded and believe that people should have the freedom to practice their religions any way they want, but this sounds a bit disgusting to me.  I wonder if this amounts to cannibalism!

I think Tom is simply acting ridiculous.  In August 2005 I talked about how his acting was criticized.  The only thing that I agree with is that there is just too much of ADHD drugs being prescribed to American children - something that I discussed almost a year ago.

While I almost never eat fast food, I have had my share of drive-through meals.  All this while I thought I was talking to an employee a few feet away.  It is pretty cool to not get out of your car and have your meal (though not the healthiest way to eat).

But how things have changed.  NYT has done a story on McDonald's reporting that at some locations when you are ordering your meal, you are talking to a customer service rep based hundreds/thousands of miles away.  Apparently it lowers their cost.  Wow, sounds pretty interesting!

The day is not far off when this call center may even be outside the United States.  So literally my order could travel to the other end of the world, and then come back to a teenager a few feet away.  I love technology.

Well we have had problems with Blogger in the past but I wasn't prepared for this one.  When my colleague called to report that one of our blogs was missing from the dashboard, I thought she had no clue what she was talking about.  When I took a look, I realized that she was right.  I tried refreshing the browser, and even logging in again, but there was absolutely no sign of the blog.  Putting the URL in the broswer only produced an error page. 

In case of this blog, we also carry advertisement so every hour that the blog was not online, we were losing money.  Blogger does have an explanation on what to do when your blog disappears from the dashboard, but none of them applied to us.

I have had very unpleasant experience with Blogger support in the past so I was not even sure if I should bother writing to them but I had no choice.  Surprisingly, they responded within three days.  Apparently it was their mistake.  Here is what they said:

"It seems that your blog was mistakenly targeted by our automated spam classifying system. However, I have checked your blog and can verify that it complies with our Terms of Service. I was able to restore it to your account, so you should see it the next time you log in.  I also whitelisted it so that this problem will not recur. Note that you
will need to republish your blog in order for it to be visible online again."

So I am glad to see that Google is working hard to fight SPAM but this types of mishaps can be a pain to ethical companies like ours.
