| Merck's makeover dilemma |

You know I am sick and tired of watching those drug ads that make you think that you have all the nasty diseases in the world and how some magic drug will cure it only if you talk to your doctor (or call a 800 number or visit a website). But then I saw this ad from Merck that talked about the company as if it was another Disney. Now my colleagues have found out that there is a bigger reason behind it after the recall of Vioxx. Merck now wants an image makeover after the Vioxx fiasco. But it is not going to be a makeover that you can have with simple plastic surgery or style change. |
