Sometime ago we had done a story on the topic of making a man more desirable to women by creating an impression that he is popular among other women.  The idea was that if a man showed up in a bar, for instance, with lipstick on his cheek, then other women would find him even more attractive, because he has been "pre-approved" by another woman.

Katrina, a contributor to MYNIPPON, disagrees.  "The lipstick on cheek strategy seems like it's more to show off to men than women.  These hard-to-get strategies, where the man is supposedly in high demand, seems like it was conceived by a man and is only there to impress other men.  At the same time, women are often competing with each other - they often do go out to check out what other women are wearing, etc.  If people are interested in attracting a quality mate and not just being a player and playing games, then show it's about honesty and having common interests and doing things that you really do - whether taking a certain political science class or joining a ski club.
