How to make serious money from your blog?
12.14.06 (3:01 pm)   [edit]

If you are not making money from your blog (particularly the one hosted here), you are not alone.  Recently, I helped Tammy, whom I met here, do what it takes to get serious about making money.  This is what I did and you are welcome to follow these tips:

  1. Switch to Blogger, as Tammy did, and take a look at her blog which focuses on healthy cooking.  I switched a long time ago but continue to maintain this blog for fun.
  2. Always link whenever possible to your own articles.  You do not want people to leave; the only way for them to leave should be through an ad.  Also read my tips on backlinks.
  3. Include pictures if possible.  They make it more appealing.
  4. Write to everyone you know and ask them to visit and link to your blog (very important).
  5. Keep your blogs short.  If the topic is too long, break it into several blogs.  People are in a hurry and get turned off by long blogs.
  6. Use as many labels (tags) as they make sense.

I find it interesting that you are using our free blogging service to drive our users away... How ironic...

Why make a blog commercial?

I have fun blogging and receiving other people's opinions.

If you are that good in blogging than it's easier to get employed by a multimedia firm to write in its space.

nickster, I'm not going away. I would never leave tblog, I love it here and I appreciate what you've provided for us.
Sonny is only trying to help me as I'm disabled and looking to make a little extra cash. I very much appreciate his efforts on my behalf as well.

Tblog is great and I will be here as long as it's here or I'm allowed to be here.

And we certainly don't want to prevent you from making some cash online (let me know how you make out)... Why wouldn't you be allowed here? tBlog needs more users just like you ;)

The problem is tblog won't allow you to have commercial blogs unless you pay them something crazy like 25 bucks a month, webhosting is less than half that.
